Eco Camp staffThe Orinoco Eco Camp is a joint venture by a number of former employees from different lodges in the Orinoco Delta, who wanted to give an alternative to the larger resorts existing throughout the region.
Many resorts focus on large groups which has begun to commercialize the delta without paying due respect to the eco system. The Orinoco Eco Camp offers a more environmentally friendly way to visit the delta, and tucked away on a quiet river it gives guests a more intimate experience with the surrounding jungle.

We employ the local Warao Indian, providing them with an alternative income to trafficking wild animals and trees. Guests can buy arts and crafts on visits to local Warao families which directly benefits the community, and camp excursions are carefully planned so they do minimum damage to the forest.

For the lack of ressources, the indigenous Warao are forced to traffic redwood, birds, and animals which threatens the ecosystem of the forest. Therefore we started a nursery (horticulture) of the endangered redwood to be replanted in the jungle. You as a guest can buy the plants for a symbolic price and plant it during the jungle trek. This project is managed by the Warao indians to offer them an alternative to earn their living, which means that the people who previously lived by trafficing endangered species will work as your guides. In this way, you help to restore the local ecosystem.
